I have a tune from AMS with an intake and exhaust. Continental Mitsubishi is giving me the hardest time because the car has a tune. They wont warranty my AWC pump because of that. Is there another dealer in the Chicago Area who look over these little things and get the warranty work done?

This dealer is terrible when it comes to Evos. One of the worst. Problem is next closest one is about an hour longer drive.

Tell them they have to prove the tune caused the pump to fail? If the pump is visibly corroded then the tune has nothing to do with the pump's failure. If you can, contact Mitsubishi and open a case with them as well.

Manufacturers will look for any excuse not to fulfill warranty coverage. Mitsu is no different and are likely looking at all possible ways to cut costs instead of owning up to a really bad design flaw.

Mitsu dealerships will think up any reason to avoid doing warranty work on an evo. Its been like this since 2003. There's really nothing you can do except buy a subie next time.

God no. Subaru is probably worse. I had my '12 WRX into the dealer 3 times for grinding 5th gear. After the last time, they broke 4th and it kept popping out of gear.

Subaru told the dealer not to touch it until my intake and tune were uninstalled. They offered to do the work for $2k. I told them to **** off. Put it all back to stock and traded it in on my wife's 4Runner.

That's a bunch of bs! I had my pump replaced a month ago under the extended warranty. Full bolt ons running e85, which I told them before hand and they said it would be fine. The only thing that can void the warranty is if the awc pump system has been modified. Which means stainless steel lines and or the pump relocation. They brought my car in the shop, scanned the codes and determined the pump was bad in a matter of 15 mins. I would go or maybe call another dealer and see what they have to say. Good luck!
