Question New here.

Hi everyone im new to the evolution forums. Just bought my evo x and wanted to change out the BOV. I know u guys are going to kill me for this but I want to go in the direction of the HKS SSQV I know its not the best for our carsm but I love the sound on it. Anyways question is what all do I need for it? Is there a special flange, pipe or somethig I need with it. I keep looking at the car and keep scratching my head because I see the stock one runs out of the intake itself. Can I buy it and mounted right on there or do I need anything else. Any help would be awesome thx.

I can't find it within myself to help anyone that cares more about sounds than what is best for their car and how to improve it the right way without damaging it.

Good luck to you

Didn't know that I could cause any harm to the vehicle with that particular BOV to be honest. With that said educate me then, this is why I come to the forums to learn and make my car better. What kind of BOV do u have?

Not to be rude, but you should also try searching. I'm new as well, and was looking into the exact same topic literally 2 days ago ( I wanted to get a Tial Q for sound as well so was doing research on it ). Apparantly from what I understand...

Air goes in. The MAF does all the necessary calculations to keep your car running properly ( AFR for instance so it knows how much fuel to put in for that amount of air ). You're BOV doing a Vent to Atmosphere will throw out some of that air during your shifts or whatever, but your car doesn't know about it. So it's still injecting fuel for the original amount of the air that was in the car. So now you got too much **** in your car.

From what I read you want a recirculated BOV unless you want to start doing research into Speed Density and if it's even worth it on the X.

Personally I didn't get one yet, but it's most likely either going to be a Tial QR or most likely a QRJ.

and no it's won't be as loud. Side not do you have an intake yet cause from what I read that'll help make your **** a bit louder (my intake is sitting in the box till this afternoon so I can't give you any first hand experience till tonight. My package with my catback, testpipe, intake, and EBCS didn't come in till like 7PM and I was too lazy to do it last night ;/, plus it gave me an excuse for a longer PB Blast soak)

Once again, prior to 2 months ago I never even did an oil change, and I'm learning all this **** now. So if I'm wrong about somethign feel free to educate me.
