Help asc problem

Picked up a 13 Evo x with 34k miles a month after owning on a random cruise of 34 mph my asc system service required light flashed after I parked and turn the car off then back on light was gone, took it to Glendale Mitsubishi they checked everything said everything checked out, a few weeks after I got a cel turns out I had a bad cat took it back to mitsu on my way there my asc flashed again I told them about it and they told me my asc problem is related to my cat ? Mitsu tried charging me a arm and a leg for a oem cat ended up getting the invidia downpipe with test pipe one piece now my asc light comes on everytime I go wot, anybody know what it could be ? If I go back to dealership and ask them to take a look at it will they void my warranty because of my test pipe even though I'm going for my asc? Other then test pipe everything else is stock thanks in advance

ayc is a warranteed item for 100k.

Past that are you sure your car wasn't modified prior to you owning it, and you are running a tune that doesn't support the modifications? In order to foul up your cat like that you must be running poorly I'd guess because that is nothing on miles to have this sort of issue.

I'd take your car to 5150 racing and have them tune it / check it then see where you stand.

Everything on the car was pretty much stock except for the exhaust system it has a worthless mag afloat exhaust

Sorry there was also a recall on the ecu so they flashed it so any chances of a tune are gone,

Any idea on what it could be ?

Still doesn't explain how a catalytic converter went bad if it was stock. If that was the case they would have warrantied that part and sent you on your way. Now that you have modified it I don't see them warrantying the catalytic converter. They should have zero reason to dispute your AYC pump failure as those are a known issue that has a warranty on them. Do a search on google for 'Evo X ayc warranty', print it out, and bring it to them.

Honestly it sounds like you need to take it somewhere else / different dealership. I still think you have parts on the car you are not aware of. Like a test pipe. Something is making your car run rich enough to foul up a catalytic converter after 30k miles.

That's not normal.

Sorry I think I'm failing in explaining, the whole cat down to the exhaust was all aftermarket which is why it was not covered by warranty.

My concern with the dealership was they had told me the reason I was having problems with my asc was because of my bad cat, I have now installed a test pipe to remove the bad cat, I'm just concerned with my new test pipe that they would void my warranty for the asc system, but I think your right and I should go try a new dealership

Good idea... You should still get a tune for the car, but I'm sure you are planning for one in the near future

If you're getting the ASC light while you got WOT, chances are you're overboosting. The ECU flashes the ASC light and another one when it detects boost pressures over 30psi. It clears as soon as you turn off and on the car. It happened to me and it was just the tune.

Check your connections for your stock solenoid as well, vacuum lines, etc. Can't hurt.

If the light comes on while normal driving (no WOT), then suggest finding a new dealership and seeing if the AYC pump is faulty and be replaced under their new 10/100k warranty.
