trying to figure out my friends car
okay here it is, long story short he had to get his motor pulled and put back in by a local shop, now he is having some big problems, ill start out by telling you guys his couple of problems before the engine deal, occasionally after a launch or just wot the car would fall over its face and accelerate like a honda, , so we would have to turn off the car and turn it back on and it would be great again, now after the motor deal, he just got it back from the shop, the asc light is now on and it is slow and falling over its face now 100% of the time, fells like either low boost or just feels like its flooding itself, (not much black smoke on the back though) 3rd gear pull from 3000 to redline is VERY slow, first is okay and second it starts falling over its face and same goes for the rest of the gears, today ill be checking the car out some more and logging it with my tactrix, oh and i already checked for boost leak but i feel i should check out all the vacuum and boost lines are hooked up correctly, his mods include, ams intake, speedcircuit catback with buschur HFC, and a boost pill, anything you guys suggest?

 

o and i forgot to add, the bov is fluttering VERY bad, neutral rev and let go it will flutter, it will flutter any time the turbo spools up and lets off

 

If the lines to the DV (OE or not) are hooked up right sounds like a massive vac leak. Does the boost gauge show vac? Could be a sensor or hose missing from the intake manifold.

 

bov could be installed backwards... causing the flutter..

as far as fallin on its face.. does he have the tephra mod ..cel flash on knock..? could be alot of knock which would suggest boost leak... log it

 

logged it, was only hitting 12 pounds, vac lines were hooked up wrong, so i fixed that and now it runs good, only seen about 2 counts of knock every so often, all i need to do now is figure out his rear o2 code and the ayc service light is still on
