Tire losing pressure. Warranty?

Hey guys, I have a 2015 GSR with about 5500 miles on the odometer that I purchased brand new at the end of March of this year.

Starting from about 2 weeks ago, I've noticed the low tire pressure light came on. After checking the tire pressures, seems the culprit was the passenger side rear tire. It was unusually low. ~24psi compared to ~30-33 psi from the other 3 tires. Haven't checked the tire pressures since buying the car and the weather did get slightly cooler so I thought it is no big deal. I added air at the local gas station and went my merry way.

After about 5 days or so, the low tire pressure light came back on again! This time it was ~27 psi so I had to add more air.

Do you guys think the dealership will replace the tire under warranty? Or at least check it? Is there such thing for tires? I know they are "wear and tear" items so I wanted to check with the community about your thoughts.

I'm hoping it's not a nail or whatever... Don't feel like using money on the car that way. lol

Thanks in advance!

Definitely not. Anything could happen in 5000 miles. Spray some soapy water around the tire and if it has a leak, you will see bubbles coming out of it. If you can't plug it yourself, take it to any tire shop and it should be like $10 to plug it

I had the same thing happen a few months after I bought my '14 GSR and thought it was a hole in the tire. The guys at Discount Tire found a leak in the valve stem/TPMS, can't remember what specifically. They fixed it and didn't charge me for it.

I think there might be a warranty for tires/brakes for brand new Evos although the allowed mileage spam is very low as I remember my '05 Evo 8 had them (found out after it's way expired of course). If you have the warranty documents with you read up on it first.

Call them and ask. Worst they can say is no. If no, like posted above... take it to a tire shop.

Carefully look for a nail or screw in the tire. You may have to roll forward a few times (be safe/car in park and parking brake on before you stick yer head in there!) to see the whole tire.

Soapy water (or spit will work in a pinch ) on the Valve stem (cap off)

Nothing? Then take to dealership for a tire-to-rim leak or...

Thank you for all the inputs.

I'm taking it to a tire shop for a tire inspection and then if needed, I'll make a dealership appointment.

I'll report back on what I find out!

Can't hurt to check and if they don't like others suggested tire shop. I had one tire go low on me literally 2 weeks ago and found out that my local town fair tire does flat repairs for free. I'm all for doing stuff yourself but if you got a place that will fix it for free...yeah.
