Paint peel on center hood scoop insert

Just noticed this today. Did an oil change last month and sure as hell wasn't there at the time. Anyone else have this happen and Does anyone know if this is covered under warranty? Had a car before that had paint peel issues and it was taken care of under warranty.

It's been posted before. From what I remember, it seems to be a common problem. Not sure about warranty. Might want to give your local dealer a call.

for some reason i cant see the picture. but i had a very similar issue about a year after taking delivery of my evo x. the dealership repainted my whole hood under warranty. the guy who painted my hood said it was brake fluid that had cause the paint to fail. told me it happens a lot with the 2 level car carriersk, the car above it leaked brake fluid on to the car below

I had a friend who had chipping / peeling in this place as well and respray was covered under the Mitsu warranty. Definitely give your local dealer a call.

i had this happen on my black inserts on my 08. I just took them out of the hood, sanded the areas where it was peeling until it was no longer a seam and no more loose paint, then plastidipped them myself. They have been good for well over a year and a half now.

Mitsubishi is fixing it under warranty and I'm also having them fix a gouge in the front bumper as well while it's there. Bad news is they can't put on the GSR wing I have because of the lip on the MR trunk.

If you could link pics I'd like to see what it looks like. They told me they could put it on but it would over hang because of the lip spoiler already on there and be set forward which sounded ghetto to me.
