Is there a "best" year Evo X?

Now that the Evo X is done..is there a 'best' year to buy?
I'm in the market after owning a GSX I sold about 7 years ago (miss her!)

Right now I have a hot deal on a 2011 GSR with low low miles. Were there any model years with major improvements? Whether it be interior or ECU/exhaust or AWD system changes?

I searched and found some old threads but nothing encompassing the entire 08-15 models and their differences..

Thanks for the help

Earlier models (2008 and 2010) had really awful factory tunes. They ran insanely rich. A simple pro tune will fix this though. The later models get some interior touches like the piano black dash trim as well as a colored center display and a upgraded stereo. The AWD system was never changed nor was the engine/turbo etc. That being said I have a 2008 Evo X with almost 80k miles and I have had 0 issues with it. It is my daily driver and it has been very reliable. If you have a good deal on a 2011 then go for it.

^That

Another difference are the side skirts. 2010 - current have different side skirts that kind of flare out, where the 08-09 ones kind of curve inward toward the car. I think the biggest difference is that the newer years (11-current) have a lot more upgradable options for your interior

2008 had timing chain stretch issues.. 2008 and 2010 had transmission diff pin issues..

get a 2011+ and you will be fine.. All of the evo X's have relay issues so make sure you check that.

lol - that is the ONE thing keeping me from exploring a new 2015 as an option. Otherwise I'd love to finance a new car.

I think the one consistent thing about this vehicle in any review publication online or off is everyone mentioning is how amazing the recaros are.

lol I was at the dealership last week picking up a part and a sales guy tried to tell me to trade my 2013 for a 2015. I told him I need the recaros and he said I could just buy some off other people and swap them out. I was like uhhhhhhhh how bout no. Not authentic enough for me and the 2015 seats look like seats out of a Toyota corolla. You can go screw yourself with all your 2015's that no one wants to buy

I cant imagine driving in an evo without recaros! just my 2cents
