Honestly have you owned an AWD car and can you know what you are asking for? Honest question. For instance, I had a 450hp Cobra and this rice burner just puts down around 300 to the ground and it is very fast.

If you are very certain you know and want 450hp on an AWD car and reliability is a concern, then yes the GSR would be a better platform for you.

I'd max out the MR at 400hp and keep the torque under 350 and call it done.

You can make the MR at that level, will just cost a lot more because you need clutch packs, maybe a transmission cooler/warmer is good at that point etc.. Kozmic motorsports might be a good place to call and ask if they think a 450hp MR is a good attainable and stable way to go.

You're just over in Arizona, road trip over to Houston with the MR if you want to get tuned by the best. (if you get one)

Are you serious? You're comparing a Nissan rogue slop paddle shifting with a sequential clutch transmission that shifts in miliseconds and is designed for perfomance?

Come on man, that doesn't sound just a bit ridiculous to you?

What I said was if that guy wasn't too stoked on the MR transmission then he should try driving a car with a CVT trans which are meh at best. Then you said I shouldn't chime in on that because I've never drivin one which is false because I've drivin a grip of different cars with CVT and they all suck compared to a regular trans.

Had a 14 MR... it was fun on highways but I thought it lacked a lot of interaction. And, it's heavier to a manual GSR. I did test drove a GSR too, and I thought it felt solid w/ great brakes, decent power. I'd think adding some bolt ons and losing some weight it'll feel decent.

I'm thinking of picking up a 15 GSR before they're gone for good. Not bad for low 30's... Solid platform, decent power, super handling in all weather... not much other choices left.

I thought about a Ford Focus ST ... but I don't need the stress of unreliable vehicles... even if it's 10k less...

I've had 3 evos. An 03 an 05 and now my 15 mr. My 03 had 400awhp on e-85 and she was amazing. All i did was straight line stuff cause in the canyons it was a bit nuts. The new MR is so good in the back road/ canyon runs I can't even begin to explain. I cant wait to do a track with it. I have no mods and I can't out drive it yet. Just hit 4k miles so with more seat tome im sure it will be time to upgradge. Now everytime i bought an evo I dont ever remember thinking man I cant wait to get my new sweet Recaro seats oh and the car will be nice also. I wanted an amazing f'ing car that just happened to have some barely considered race seats ( those of you who have real race seats know what I mean). Does is it suck always getting asked what happened to my recaro seats...nope, is it nice having the extra side airbag protection yup,can I get some race seats yup. The MR is legit man. But if you drive it you will know if you want it or not? Go drive one if you can brotha!

I just bought a 15' Ob GSR a couple weeks o and I love it. I traded in my 05 G35 that was falling apart after a few years so you could imagine how great it felt to get rid of that. I'm not really worried about speed off the bat it's a fun car I still think the seats are fine just gonna delay me getting a 4 point harness for a while. But I bought a weighted neo chrome blox shift knob to help get some of the notchiness out of the shifter. Works great and I love it.

This is as funny as the guy who buys a 1.5 million dollar home that comes pre furnished with IKEA furniture.

Those seats are straight up trash.

Anyone who buys a 1.5 million dollar home with IKEA furniture should donate all his money and jump off a cliff.

I picked up a 13 MR last week. It was not easy finding one around me that did not have a ton of miles. It didn't help that I wanted a WW one with low miles and stock to near stock. Anyhow... car has 9k miles, every option possible on it (Nav, Touring, Premium package, Illumination) the original new car sticker was still in the car for $46,750 (I hope the previous owner didn't pay this much). I paid 33,800 after some haggling.

With that said, this is my 3rd Evo (had an 8 GSR and 9 MR) and loved them both. After going through hundreds of listings (for last 4 months) and trying to find one because I did not want to buy one without the Recaros, I kinda wished I bought a 15. While doing my search I found several 15 models selling for less than 14 and even 13s.

For the seats.. you have several good aftermarket seat options. Sparco, Brides, Corbeau and even Recaros that will cost you around the same what a used set of OEM Recaros would from a seller here. My point is do not be fixed on the seats. If you have not sat on them before, I suggest you do. The X Recaros are smaller than the 8/9 seats. At least they feel tighter to me and I am 5'7" 160 so I am not a big guy by all means. So if you are taller and bigger framed, you may want to consider getting aftermarket seats.

As for the MR/GSR thing... it is subjective and totally a personal thing. I did not want to shift gears anymore and I will only be doing bolt-ons so to me it was a moot point. Plus GSR interior (unless you get the premium package) is not as nice as the MR if you get any year except 15.
So if you get a 15 regardless of GSR or MR, I wouldn't get any options except maybe the Sight and Sound package. This will yield the most savings and you get the nicer radio and HIDs. The rest really are not worth paying for... the NAV you can live without, its decent at best for a factory NAV.

Good luck and again... consider everything when deciding on the tranny.
