Do they make aftermarket seats that just bolt right on to our stock hardware?
I believe the OEM brackets can be mounted on the aftermarket Recaro. I'll double check.

If this is true, this would change everything.. I'd probably be leaning towards the after market seats then instead of the OEM honestly. Please let me know what you find out!

Canada gets the same thing but with sunroof/steel roof and non black headliner/pillars.

I spoke to BP Auto, and the rep said I'd have to tear into the old seats to get the sensors, which I know is false, or go without. So that is a turn off. So roughly $2500 + fab work, and shipping. I just decided to get a set of OEM recaros, and found a deal on FB for $800 + shipping. So this is a no brainer. The SR-7 would be nice, and wouldn't rule them out down the line, but I need something more concrete before I throw $ at it, as I can't afford to have my daily driver down for any more than a day. I'll revisit that at a later date.

Grats on the find! I think I have a pair as well, but the guy I was talking to has been busy and hasn't had a chance to reply to my last message yet.

Sadly, I'm looking at $1k + shipping (which is going to be like $430) or $900 cash if I pick them up, which will include: borrowing a vehicle, a 22 hour round trip, gas, tolls, food, misc. Neither option is overly appealing lol, but I'm leaning towards just paying the shipping at this point.

Sure, just type evo x recaro in the search of your FB app. It will pull posts from groups that sell/trade evo parts. Look for a recaro sale, and show interest by likibg and commenting. Some sellers are more motivated than others. Good luck with it.

I'm using greyhound for shipping. Cheapest way to go. Save the mileage!

Man that's easy. Rent a car that can fit them, drive it there and back and done. That way you can see them in person and not have any issues.

Minor price to pay for those seats. 10 hour drive is nothing man.

Actually I'd drive the EVO there, put the Recaros in, then leave the stock seats under a bridge for a bum to use for a bed.

I've checked a little bit just to see what it might cost to get them. It seems like you have to really consider the cost/benefit analysis, unless you are lucky enough to be able to source the seats from a car that you have personally owned or a friend's car. I noticed that almost all of the used Recaros that I saw on ebay have significant blemishes on them - stains and small tears or discoloration of some kind that is hard to avoid noticing. I don't know if all these people are constantly spilling drinks all over their seats and beating them up ;0 Yet they still demand $1,200. If I have to pay $1,200 to put a pair of stained seats in my FE, I think I'll stick with the stock dumpy Lancer seats for a while.
