Lowest price for a NEW Base GSR?

I have been in the market for about 3 months and thus far the best price I have been able to negotiate is $32,500 for a car that has a $35,350 MSRP. My trigger number is $31,000 which is not based off any factual findings. I am wondering if the final editions will put more pressure on dealers to sell out their base GSR inventory? Any valuable input would be appreciated.

Your trigger number means nothing when the dealership has a last year sought after car on their lot. Just get it for 32,500 and move on with your life. In 4 years do you really think that 1500 will matter?

Meh

YOLO go get the car and stop frittering over beans bro.

It's not so much about the $1500. For me, It's really about getting it for an unbelievable price.

It's a Evo, not a Camry. I doubt they'll go lower than they already are. If you want the car that bad than pay the $32,500 which is a pretty damn good deal to begin with. At the end of the day your good deal doesn't matter cause your car will have base lancer seats

I would say hold out and see if there are any Final Editions still sitting on lots next year. They do not look to be selling like hotcakes, and I am sure some dealers will be desperate to move them.

I would not buy a used Evolution only because I don't know how badly the previous owner abused it. I could always buy some used recaro's from previous model years or just buy new recaro's.

......and then the unbelievable number starts looking a lot less unbelievable because you had to pay full retail on a pair of Recaro seats. Surely you wouldn't put used seats on a brand new Evo, right?

I absolutely would put good condition used recaro's in a brand new car. If they can be obtained for a good price, why not?

I think you are a bit paranoid if you don't believe you could find a good used EVO. Just look around and you would be surprised. If price is your only object and you want the Recaros, I'd find a 2012-2014 used EVO and go from there.

The only other 'I'll just put recaros in it' argument that misses for me is that anyone with an EVO with Recaros has next to no reason to get rid of them. Unless you find some die hard racer that's putting in dedicated race seats I don't think that many people sell their seats to begin with.

Good luck, but I think you should buy used if the recaros mean a lot to you, or buy new if they don't.

It seems that we are getting off topic. I am not interested in a used evolution and the seats are not much of a concern to me.

Then go snag that car you have for a reasonable price. You are too focused on 'I have to get a killer deal' when you are approaching an exclusive performance car. You will have some wiggle room, but this isn't a large volume Camry where you can really make some movement in the numbers.

Good luck with your decisions, I stand by my original response - It's 1500 dollars. Big woop. You could be driving your new car right now instead of sweating small amounts of cash like that. And if that is a huge amount of cash to you, then the EVO is probably more car than you should be buying.

If it isn't.... Go buy the car and post pictures lol.

"Exclusive performance car", LOL. The Evolution X is a solid performance car. Nothing really exclusive about it anymore though.I like it because it has a good AWD system, power increases can be attained quickly and cheaply, and decent resell value. I know that to some people it's a "dream car" but if that's how you feel then you really need to dream bigger 👍
