Did I just mess up my interior?

So, long story short, I used Armor All interior wipes to *clean* my interior dash. Noticed this around certain areas. Tried to clean it with a damp cloth, but nothing. Any advice or help?

is it lighter than the rest of the material?

Yessh I dunno I just use water and a towel because all that **** is so weird on how it affects different materials.

Have you tried a wet towel and then follow with a dry?

for anyone interested, soap and water will remove the armour all assuming you get to it right away. Nor will armour all hurt clear coat as it will wash right off. I think some are creating a bit more of a monster than that stuff really is...nevertheless, I don't use it either. buff on! http://www.miataforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Man get some soap and water on that ASAP it looks like Armor All is petroleum based and can eat the plastic?

wtf.

It left the edges of the dash darker than the rest. I wiped it down with some water, but i'll give soap and water a try as well. Thanks

Try some vegetable oil.
If that doesn't keep everything the same shade, remove all of it with rubbing alcohol and try using a good interior cleaner afterwards (armor-all is fit to clean asphalt).

Black magic proshine is what I use on my dash. It darkens, conditions, and protects. You might be able to lay it on over the armor-all and it might mask the mess.

Do not use rubbing alcohol. I accidently got some on the dash while removing adhesive residue from my inspection sticker on the windshield. It bleached some of the plastic.

303 Aerospace Protectant for the win. Water based, UV protectant with a nice matte finish.

One must avoid using generous amounts and avoid non-uniform distribution of it on surfaces such as the dash

Thanks for this tip. Not cheap, but like you say, leaves a nice dry finish.

Too late to say don't use armourall. Get some Meguiars interior detail spray. It just cleans without adding shine. You don't want shine on the dash anyways as it will reflect in your eyes. We have a detailing company and that's all we use. We use the detailers version but I am pretty sure it's close in makeup to the stuff you can buy in stores. Or go to autogeek.net. They have all the good stuff for cleaning and detailing your car. This is what we have been using the last two years and never a customer complaint about the dash.

When we first started the detailing company we were addicted to buying products. We tried everything over the first year but as time went on we settled on our favorites and this was the one for interior wipe down. For dirtier interior we use their APC All Purpose Cleaner.

I used those same armor all wipes to clean my truck and the next day everything was stained. Had to let it sit for a couple of days and then clean everything again with microfiber towels and water.
