Excessive water in catch can?

I installed the Driven Fab catch can in late December of this past year and it already filled to near capacity when I checked it yesterday. It seems to be mostly water though and very little oil particles. I'm hoping this is normal for Northeast temps? Very race car feel standing there in a casino parking lot pumping this glorious smelling waste into a water bottle.

I was looking into getting a catch can for the evo x. I'm not sure which one.. Where did you mount it and connect the hoses? Got anymore pictures of the engine bay with the can and hose connections?

I don't have any at the moment, I'll get some more when I head out again. I have the driven Fab v3 catch can. It basically replaces the coolant expansion reservoir. The hoses go to the valve cover. Since this is a VTA style, it doesn't get directed back into the intake. Tbh the quality and performance blows me away, plus it makes the engine bay look way nicer.

Uh, hm.. I'm not quite sure there should be water in there, unless the breather filter is getting drenched and leaking it through the top of the reservoir. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

That's exactly the stuff I get in my catch can also. Thought it was only because I run a lot of Meth/water injection. I have concluded that it's just normal moisture from the intake air. This stuff gets super-heated and moved to the coolest point of the engine (valve cover) and vented out there. Without the catch can the engine will just "burn" it and push it the tail pipe.

Good to know, I think that bundled with a somewhat short commute can attest to the amount of water. It's pretty cool to see thats for sure.

This can as well acts as a coolant overflow tank if you have forgotten or didnt know. The filter can get damp still the little overflow drain port near the top helps from spraying it all over your engine bay but the filter still gets pretty cruddy pretty fast. I would check it every 2 to 3 weeks depending how ya drive and the outside temp. Keep that filter nice a cleaner
