Mitsubishi won't help you. All they will do is reach out to the dealer, who has zero obligation to do anything. Corporate won't force them. Mitsubishi dealerships are trash. What dealership?

Also, I'm pretty sure installing HID bulbs in reflector housings is not legal in a lot of places. Check with local policy or try to dig up the law.

They can't claim they met "oem quality" if they gave you an illegal product!

What does the receipt for the $580 you paid say?

On the bill of sale it says "install HID headlights"

I live in Illinois.

Go to the dealer in person and do not leave until this is sorted out. For that price they need to be OEM with the OEM leveling as well.

They know they just tried to cut a corner on you, and hoped you wouldn't notice.

Well the dealer GM called me. He stated that Mitsubishi does not make any factory accessories/kits to install OEM HID headlights into a non SSS model. Shouldnt this have been told to me from the get go???? I also find out that the dealer ordered an aftermarket HID kit to install and put into the car. Must have been a pretty fancy aftermarket hid kit to cost $1,160. What a joke. And the GM even agrees with me that the headlights are not safe for oncoming traffic. They are not offering me any alternatives besides refunding me the $580.00 I paid for the HID headlights. I smell bait and switch....

Very disappointing they would even go through all of this knowing they were not willing to invest the time to make it right from the beginning.

Wouldn't they be able to just order the HID kit for an SSS model and install it? It's not like we have a different wiring harness or a different frame/ecu. It's the same car but with add-ons. I'm guessing they just don't want to deal with the install.

I'd take the $580 back, and find some used ones.

Made a deal with the GM to refund me $900 and put the OEM halogen bulbs back in. Reluctantly. Its not worth the time or trouble to deal with people who treat you like an idiot. ...Never dealing with them again....

Just stick with the halogens. They should be lighter anyways.

so $1160 was added to your bill of sale with a discount of $580. The stealership will refund you $900 but you'll have an additional $260 added to your financing for nothing? am I reading that correctly?
