Am I missing something, or is this the dumbest idea in the history of car modding?

Now the resale value on the 2015 is shot to hell and you have a car that is going to cost big bucks to fix.
My thoughts as well. Like its hard to wrap your brain around hahaha

Your best bet is have them fix it right ant don't mess with it. The air filter on the evo is a very good design. Don't screw around and wind up with dirt in the intake...

That's my plan. The car is in very capable hands of sst specialists. Also I am keeping the stock airbox, I just replaced the filter with a high flow washable element and tube from the airbox to the turbo. However I am installing a few other bolt ons and getting a tune to unleash some must needed power!

Update

The car is now drivable again. It turns out that the flywheel wasn't torqued properly and the bolts loosened causing the flywheel to break because of the vibrations. I will post pictures once I get the car back.
Now there is another issue. The mechanic took the car for a test drive and it won't build any boost! He's trying to diagnose the problem but hasn't found it yet...
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I was thinking that it could be a BCS or blowoff valve or even wastegate issue. The car is 3 hours away from me so I can't even look at it for myself..

Another update... The wastegate actuator was sticking open so he replaced the wastegate actuator and now she's Boosting! Going to pick her up tomorrow!
