Bye community
It doesn't actually have a differential in the rear it just uses clutch packs to send the power to the rear and when they're and when they're overheated it doesn't have any way to drive the rear end it's not just the rear clutch packs being overheated I believe it's the active Center as well people really don't know what's going on with it. also you cant check the fluid so if you overheat automatic transmission fluid in the rear end you have no idea the condition unlike the evo that has a sight glass
The ayc fluid has a Reservoir if it's brown and smelly it's bad

the ayc fluid is pretty much not a serviceable item, are you talking about the thing in the trunk? If so that doesnt really alert you to the level of the fluid in the rear diff, its still a good ol fashion drain and fill when its time to change it. And you just fill it until it spills. You definitely should not try and fill it from that reservoir, it wont work and you will ruin your diff.

When I relocated the ACD/AYC pump to the trunk, I manually bled the lines and some of it does come up all brown and nasty. I kept bleeding it until it was the actual red liquid coming out.
I supposed if you want to flush it, buy some additional AYC fluid and have a helper keep filling the reservoir until it is all clear of the brown mess.

I don't know.. I can't warm up to the RS, maybe because I think its a bit over styled, maybe because if its driven hard it becomes FWD and there isn't a solution so far. Seems for now its a car best left stock, so if warranty issues arise, you'd have coverage. OP, enjoy it and best of luck!

As for the RDU issues, it's more apparent for some who have been experiencing this on highly technical tracks particularly those without long straights. I have done 3 full track days in my RS at 3 different tracks (Homestead, PBIR, and Sebring) during very hot & humid ambient temps and no RDU issues nor RDU shutdown at all. Zero. Even at PBIR and Sebring, there was another guy at each event with their RS and neither experienced RDU problems. There are others too all over the country that track theirs and no reported RDU issues. Many of us are not novice, not newbs to the hpde scene... some are track rats that are even worst than me.
So my point is that it shouldn't be interpreted out of context nor assumed that the RS cannot be driven hard or else the FWD mode will just occur. That's totally misleading. Not saying it doesn't or won't happen... just merely stating the real world facts vs. overblown conjecture.
Btw I do agree with leaving it stock for now... I know I am for warranty purposes. I did the same on my C7 Z06 which tallied 16 track events with me until GM recently bought it back due to lemon law... talk about a one-lap wonder, that's actually a better example. Anyway in short the RS is an all new platform but it's a really good hot hatch that is very fun to drive and can perform well. It's the real deal IMHO.
The Mk3 RS cars are all made in Germany at the Saarlouis production plant and obviously that also contributes to the transit time to get over here Stateside. It's also a testament to the pretty good build quality as well as German engineering via the Ford EU brand.
Yup still true. I ordered mine in Oct last year and it arrived in late June. Worth the wait.

I actually passed on my original order I mentioned above (Stealth Gray, RS2, Forged wheels w/ Cup 2 tires and at msrp) when at the same time a Frozen White (RS1, no options) popped up locally for sticker since I did a 2-car deal with the dealership... placed a deposit on a GT350-R with an ADM though but acceptable to me.
Btw my original order ended up selling for 5k over to someone else.
That's a similar story to mine except Ford chat found me one on the lot, but i managed to secure it at MSRP! They were looking for $5k, apparently it had been sitting there for a month but no deposit had been placed on it despite interest.
Not bad considering the going ADM now is around 5k over. I agree it's not a big deal if you can financially swing it.
