Launch Advise?

I have full bolt ons and a comp stage 3 clutch (2-3k ish miles)
Every time I've gone to launch the car I've either given the car half throttle and eased out on the clutch (where is normally burned) and the other time i gave it full throttle and when i eased out on the clutch I banged off the rev limiter and threw an engine over speed code.... So help a brother who's new to AWD out

Try it out on wet pavement so you get a feel for it. Just so you know if you mess up a launch bad enough you can trash your transfer case which is about a 5k fix. So launch carefully

Personally I see these cars more as autocross cars, so launching isn't necessary.

Wet pavement means less traction than on dry pavement which means less friction and stress on the transfer case when taking off.

The X is an expensive car to launch better make sure you got money in the bank for when it breaks.

The thing that causes damage is shocking the drive train when there is "slack" in the system. What you want to do is feather the throttle until you reach the RPM you want to launch at, then slowly let out the clutch until you feel it start to grab, at that point you have loaded up the drive train and you can go ahead and go WOT and release the clutch the rest of the way. Doing this well is really about learning your car and building the muscle memory to do it all smooth and fast. This is of course based on my own experience, I have a 2003 VIII with 145k miles still on the original transfer case which has the notably weaker spider gears.
