Replacement FAST key

Lost my FAST key and really don't want to drive 30 miles to closest Mitsh dealership. Any way else to get a replacement?

Just buy a new one online from someplace like this:

And program it:

Here is the correct way to do it (just like the manual says, except without the chinglish):

step1: sit in the drivers seat with your key inside with you.
step2: make sure the car is off
step3: turn your headlight switch off if it is on
step4: open the drivers door

this is where it gets confusing to people. you must do this whole process after 4 seconds of step 5, but before 10 seconds is up.

step5: hold down the lock button on your FAST keyfob for a little past 4 seconds
step6: while still holding the lock button down, ALSO begin holding the unlock button down on the FAST keyfob
step7: RELEASE your thumb/finger from the lock button FIRSTLY
step8: RELEASE your thumb/finger from the unlock button SECONDLY
step9: you'll hear a beep corresponding the the program mode you selected. in this case it just alternates between the two.

It matters which button you release firstly and secondly, and you must do the process before 10 seconds is up, but begin it after 4 seconds.
Not too bad really. Makes you worry about how secure FAST isn't but hey.....

Thanks! just ordered one from them. I don't like not having a backup key and certainly don't want to pay a dealer $350 for the key alone (without programing).

Got the replacement but no matter what I try, directions from their site, or provided here it doesn't work. Reading the manual it says you need to have both FAST keys to program a third which defeats the purpose of replacing a key from this vendor.

I called King Mitsubishi dealer in Maryland and they quoted me $320 for the transponder, $25 for the cut key, and $100 for programming, beside a 50 mile round trip for me.

If I lose my only remaining key I'm pretty screwed.

Any suggestions?

So the message for those of us with two good 'keys is to buy a third (spare) one NOW to save $$$...

Yeah, I just looked and you need both keys to add a 3rd key. I did find this post and it might be worth a try.

But, if you take that spare to King and just tell the service advisor that one stopped working, they should reprogram both keys for you for $100 That doesn't solve getting the blank cut but any decent locksmith shop can do that part. When we got my Wife's RA one of the keys didn't work right off the bat and they had to have both keys to reprogram the one. Fickle cars.
