I have had my ABS/ASC not working(off) for a year or so, and I have finally gotten around to fixing it. I found out the my AYC was throwing the code for the right-rear wheel speed sensor (using evoscan). I replaced this sensor today, and now its throwing the code C0420. The ABS/ASC will work until about third gear if I clear the code, and randomly on it owns when I first start up the car. I had this same erratic working and non-working ABS/ASC before I switched out the sensor, though. I can not find any information on this new code that is appearing. I have heard of P0420, but it is absolutely C0420 (unless I am crazy). I have included a pic of what I am seeing in evoscan.
I would appreciate any and all help on finding out what DTC C0420 is.
I just payed off my car and I have so much other maintenance I want to get done, so it can last another 6 years.
Evoscan Displaying AYC DTC C0420
EDIT: I MEANT TO POST THIS IN THE 09+ LANCER RALLIART SECTION, MY BAD! I STILL WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP THOUGH!
So I re-flashed my ecu with the same GST Basemap I had before and cleared the DTC's using ecuflash. I took the car for a spin and the ABS/ASC failed again, but this time different codes showed up. I looked them up and this is what I found.
C1044- Abnormality in periodical signal for RR wheel speed sensor
(so maybe the new wheel speed sensor is working, but now there is another issue)
c1290- temporary CAN timeout
(below are the probable causes I found for this code)
PROBABLE CAUSES----
Engine ECU malfunction
4WD-ECU malfunction
Steering wheel sensor malfunction
Malfunction of the CAN bus
ASC-ECU malfunction
Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
u0141- ETACS-ECU CAN communication time-out
(my A/C stopped blowing cold a month ago, maybe this is why)
PROBABLE CAUSES---
Damaged harness wires and connectors
Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
Malfunction of the A/C-ECU
So is my ecu malfunctioning?
Should I get a new one?
My car runs perfectly fine, except for the A/C not blowing cold, and ABS/ASC issue.
Well, either connection to the ecu,asc-ecu,or ac-ecu or the actual ecu's themselves are malfunctioning. Since I think I'm as far as I can take this, I am reverting to stock and taking it to the dealer. Hopefully, they can give me an accurate diagnosis, and I will be able to replace one or two of these parts, myself. The worst case scenario seems to be that a cable or two have gone bad in the car. That would suck; I'd rather replace a part then run electrical cables, and connectors.
(I don't know if we have an asc-ecu or asd-ecu or both)
