I would go:
Intake, turbo back exhaust, S2 cams, 1000cc injectors, fuel pump & Blouch 2.0XTR (same as old CBRD BBK full if you want to look up dyno charts)
http://www.bptstore.com/Evolution-X-...XTR_p_145.html
Also get a larger fmic if you plan on doing extended pulls.

Would go with S1's over S2's. Better spool up and mid range torque.

JohnBradley, aka English Racing, posted a comparison on S1 vs S2's, and they found the S2's were better almost everywhere on the powerband. /shrug

On an 8, a 9 or a X? Because every time I ping Aaron for cam selection on a X, if we're shooting for <500whp, he recommends GSC S1's to me. So pretty much any application where a stock frame turbo is going to be used on a stock motor.

The write up was for 9. Maybe he changed his opinion in regards to the X. Here is the thread I was referring to. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...tle-turbo.html

The 4b11 is a completely different beast from the 4g63. Data from the 4g63 does not at all correlate to the 4b11. Bore/stroke are completely different, and the cylinder head is WAY different.

Sure, but S2's should still put down more up top. If OP goes go with the smaller cam, he might need a bigger turbo (than the 2.0xtr) to hit 400whp.

I guess I feel like S1's are such a slight increase in power that the money could be better spent elsewhere.

The MHI18k will make over 400 on 92 octane pump with stock cams on a GSR.

On a X, the stock frame turbo's are done before S2's are needed. Especially with the tiny stock exhaust ports.

Wow, I didnt realize the MHI18k would put down 400+whp on stock cams and pump gas. That is hands down the cheapest way to 400whp.

Depeends on the pump gas though. 91 octane would put it closer to 400, and running a recirculated DP would further lower power a bit more. A set of S1's would more than make up for it. I put them in a friends stock turbo X, he gained 30whp on ACN91. Up to 360whp from 330whp. Only change was cams.

How much of a difference does a recirculated vs dumped downpipe make on these cars? I'm used to a platform where it didn't do much, but I have heard multiple times that on the Evo it does.

Depends on the turbo. But if you want max power, anything other than a stock turbo should have have a wastegate dump. On an 18k, its about 20-30whp.

Well it's a good thing I went with a screamer pipe on my Black then. Had an AMS on the stock turbo.
