Im in the DMV area and I don't know about you guys, but i've been noticing the past few months that my Evo has been turning a lot more heads than in the past. Also, i've also been noticing a lot more WRXs doing ricer flyby's (but I guess that's not out of the norm). I know we are a lot more rare esp being out of production on the road than subarus, but is that the only reason? Yesterday some guy literally spent like 30 seconds in the parking lot checking out my Evo while I was walking towards it.

What do you think the deal is?

 

I think part of it is games that have been coming out lately. Dirt, WRC, Sebastien Loeb, etc. The Evo X has been featured in almost all of them.

I think the other part is because it is a bit more rare. Also... summer time?

 

Evo always will be. And as time will pass, it will be even more. If you drive for an example Lancia Delta HF Integrale or a GT4 Celica etc in EU, people literally stop just see you driving by. Evos are the same. Except Galant VR4, for that u need to be an expert to spot

 

They are beautiful machines.

A lot of the other guys trying to be fast dumping thousands and we can be fast with e85 and bolt ons while other need full block builds to even get were we get with basic bolt ons and stock blocks.

 

"Normal" ***** don't even know what an Evo is. Does it catch their attention? Maybe. Because of the rear wing.

Now you have ***** that recognizes an Evo. These are the kids, teenagers, and WRX drivers that want and are drawn to an Evo. It's like you're ****ing a hot girl and they wanna steal her from ya. Player hating ****.

Then there's the hardcore sports cars enthusiasts who can appreciate quality machines. The majority of us here on evom falls in this category. And maybe even have civil conversations when we run into each other on the streets. Big maybe.

I'm genuinely shocked by the attention garnered by my stock looking GG IX. This summer, especially. Folks are whipping out their phones at stop lights trying to capture a likeness. A kid fell off his bike last week straining to look at the car. I vacationed in a relatively rural area, recently, and people came out of their homes to see the thing. It's nothing short of remarkable. In all honesty, I'm not sure a lime green/purple polka dot 935 Moby Dick would turn more heads. Not at this point in time. Would not have believed it, myself. Astonishing.

 

I agree! I see STI's and WRX's all around, but i,ll be lucky to see one other Evo a week. Main reason I went this route and not another STI.

They are beautiful vehicles and I rarely see any on the road by my area

 

I see a fair amount of Evos in my area. They always look angry.

Tons of Subaru bros vaping aggressively in their rides also.

 

I could not agree more. I came from the Mazdaspeed platform, and on my drive to work I would pass easily 6-8 wrx/sti's.

Evo has been a dream car of mine since highschool and I'm glad I finally get to look at one in my garage every day now.

 

Evo has been a staple since the beginning.

 

I was at an intersection recently waiting for the light to turn green. Older gentleman and his son are crossing the street. Surprisingly, the father gives me the thumbs up as they walk in front of my car. Made my day.
