Just curious as i've seen a lot of people like both of them. My only thing is i enjoy going through the gears. But from a performance stand point. Is the MR a better vehicle? And if so why? Thanks.

I have a Ralliart and a GSR and I like them both quite a lot. The SST is great in traffic, but definitely needs to be driven "manually" under performance scenarios to get the most out of it. The SST can be rebuilt and definitely wasn't designed to live long at increased power levels. The GSR has an OK-at-best transmission but being able to disengage the drivetrain with your left foot and the joy of a manual shifter are big pluses to me from a driving experience.

Ultimately, the GSR is going to be the more reliable car with extensive mods and will be the cheaper car to make reliable power with. It all depends on your overall goal, IMO.

 

No it's not. Kozmic told me directly, I own an MR. You cannot get a lot of the internal components as needed in the future. You can get a valve body, past that the whole trans. I was surprised when told as well... You can buy all the parts for a GTR transmission but not the EVO SST.

 

Ah i see. Thanks Mainly want to go for around 500whp and call it a day at that. So Nothing insane when it comes to HP. How would a MR do with such a load?

I think the MR is better, but I chose a GSR for less possible issues.

 

I've heard the MR's transmission overheats pretty easily on the track. Not sure if you plan to track yours, but it's something to keep in mind.

 

My understanding is if you want to mod to that power level go GSR, MR can not handle that power.

 

Big power - MR is a non starter unless you have serious serious money. Just go with the GSR it is cheaper to maintain, holds power better, resells better etc.. It's superior in all but speed in shifting, and being in traffic.

 

GSR will be more engaging, being a traditional manual. You want 500hp? Go GSR.
