So about the factory recalls/warranty stuff..
I've never in my life owned a car new enough to be under factory warranty or even though of looking into factory recalls. I purchased my 2011 used with 60k on the clock a few weeks ago. My question is with all the factory recalls and stuff, how do I know if this has been done or not on my car? I just read a big article about the GSR CMC getting recalled, would a local dealer be able to run my VIN and see if it has been done? I don't have every single service record for the car and yadda yadda. And say my ACD pump goes bad, since the car is still under factory warranty (its nearly 100% OEM as well) I can just bring it back into the dealership and say here fix it!?

Yes just have the dealer run the vin and they will advise / schedule you to get any applicable recalls done. ACD pump is warrantied to 100k miles regardless if you have a warranty or not, but they won't replace a working pump proactively, it has to fail. Enjoy the car!
Also if your pump is in good shape, and not having issues, you may consider relocating it to the trunk so it will not fail in the future. Most do that after having it replaced / or proactively. Especially if you drive it in the winter, that's what kills them.
