Need advice on buying Evo x MR
Need advice on buying Evo x MR
Hey guys! Hope all is well
Cutting the long story short. I have had a long history of bad luck buying performance cars. My previous car is an evo 8 that drove me insane with the amount of issues it had and my current car is v36 370gt that is boring as hell to drive.
So I am looking to upgrade to a newer 2009 EVO X MR, hopefully being a newer car I wont have as many issues. $25k is also my budget.
Now my concerns is, how reliable is the SST in the MR? I have heard so many damn horror stories its kind of put me off buying the MR model. Are the stories overblown?
I would be happy with around 250kw at the wheels. That would be more than enough for the street. Can the SST handle that sort of power levels?
In terms of servicing, anything you guys recommend I do?
Any help will be much appreciated guys.
EDIT: Are the older evos more reliable?

Honestly, as a previous SST owner, you can get lucky or you can't. And if you don't get lucky, repairs can get expensive and need to be done by the best or they can lead to more problems. I had the best in my city, still do, and I say pass on the MR especially if you are on a more limited budget and don't have easy access to an SST specialist. Good luck to you!

I am sorry for the late reply. I was sick in hospital..
I ended up buying an extremely low km evo x JDM spec. It was owned by some old guy that hardly drove it. Extremely clean! It was so hard to find a used evo that hasnt been thrashed by some kid with spikey hair...
Ill post pictures soon!
