Fuel Cut, Backfire

Hey guys. New to the forum.

Got a bit of an issue I thought I'd run by the X owners here. I was doing a 4th gear pull the other day, and at around 4500 rpm, I hit fuel cut and backfired big time. Car jerked hard and there was a loss of power. Saw the Service Engine Soon light blink once (maybe twice). Was probably at around 75% throttle. Mods are: ETS Intercooler and piping, invidia TBE, ID 1000s, K&N Intake, BOV. I Was on e85 at the time, probably around max boost (28psi) but I don't have a boost gauge installed.

I checked my FPR hose and it's fine, all ziptied up. I don't currently have any EM to log, so I can't provide that. Should I just give my tuner a call? It's been on this tune for about 17k miles. Wondering if it needs a touch up. Thanks guys!

Check the fuel pump relay, I had the updated ones from SSP but they where about 4 or 5 years old at the point mine failed again. I ordered the newest updated ones and since putting them in I have had zero issues. I replied to alby988 about this very thing.

Mine is a 14' and has the updated Panasonic's, but it has 38k on it so I'll check it out later today. Should I just give it the shake test?

Sorry I have not been on here in a while. I shook mine and it sounded fine but I swapped it anyway and problem was gone.

All good man. I shook it and I heard some **** moving around, so I went ahead and got the relay kit from MAP. No problems so far. Im about to install a wideband and a boost gauge so I can see if im overboosting in those 4th gear e85 pulls, It seems like when im running e85 im just riding the razors edge of potential problems. Lol

you can also try a fuel pressure gauge, when that happened to me it was because I had a small fuel leak at the fuel basket thanks to a crappy fuel system install the previous owner did.

I got the new orange Panasonic relays and it's running a lot better. I switched out the fuel pump relay with the DRL relay right after I thought it could be the problem, and noticed the DRLs randomly shut off after a few minutes a couple days ago. Thinking it was definitely the relay.
