I'm new please help (clutch)
Hi guys, I'm about to buy a 2015 grs with only 38000km in Canada. So when I went to tested drive the vehicule I noticed that the clutch had to go a bit high like maybe 80% up to be able to change gear....
I ask the mecanique guy over there and he said" no there's no problem I guarrantie you that the clutch doesn't need to be change".
So I'm asking to the ones that drive evo. Is it normal that the clutch goes that high to change gear?

Hello / Welcome Raphael
You should find out if an aftermarket clutch has been installed. Are there any mods done to this EvO? Depending on the mod level, that may give us an indication as to whether this EvO would have had a clutch replacement
There is a clutch adjustment procedure that can be done to ensure proper clutch pedal engagement / bite point
I have an EvO9 & have that procedure but this is an X so the procedure is likely just a bit different

Normal. Based on my experience with my X before buying. Test drove it and noticed the Engagement point is higher from the floor board and clutch is stiffer than I was usually used to. (Came from a 04 ralliart)
Evo's are rough cars. They make whistles pops, snarls etc.. If the car feels good, has no error lights, a clean history, and looks solid / drives well you need to get 'used' to the EVO and it's nuances. These aren't hondas
Good luck but sounds like a stock EVO to me with the clutch etc..

If the clutch feels that abnormal, it could be from the previous owner launching it improperly too many times, or an aftermarket clutch. The stock Evo clutch is actually really smooth.
