Torque Pro Android app showing Ethanol% ?
Torque Pro Android app showing Ethanol% ?
Has anyone gotten this to work? I recently got a flex fuel tune using the wtf kit and was looking into getting SYGAV head unit also. I cant find anyone that actually got the Torque Pro app to read the ethanol % for the Evo X. I've seen a lot of old threads but nothing has been updated.
Ive used the torque app and displayed it through the sygav android dash. Overall, i liked the setup, but if i were to do it again, id use a quality obd2 adapter, to speed up response time. As for displaying ethanol content, through the torque app, i suppose it could be accomplished. You would have to have your content sensor wired into the stock ecu, and youd have to know the address used by the ecu rom. Then youd have to go into manage custom pid's in the torque app and create a custom pid using the proper address for the sensor, and come up with a working formula for scaling. The easier solution would probably be to display evoscan through the sygav unit. I did that by using my laptop, opening evoscan, starting a datalog, opening a custom gauge dashboard that shows all the data you want to monitor, then downloading a remote desktop viewer in the android play store. Then i connected my laptop to the sygav dash via said remote desktop app, allowing me to view the current desktop from my laptop, onto my sygav screen. Simply put, youre mirroring your laptop, which is showing evoscan log data, directly to the sygav android display. I tried several remote desktop apps, and some work better than others in terms of response in mirroring. I found one pay app that comes close to instant mirroring, and i found that it worked well. The nice thing about doing it that way, is youre using evoscan to display the sensor data. That allows you to create custom gauges and displays, using the gauge wizard. Also, the laptop is directly connected to the cars ecu, so response time is instant. Once you find a remote desktop viewer app that adequately displays whats on your laptop screen, your set. Eventually i plan to get another sygav head unit. I managed to burn up the mosfet in my first one. So i bought a windows based laptop that has a detachable screen that converts into a tablet. I just open up evoscan on it, and use a dash mount for tablets to hold it, so i can see it driving. Its not ideal, but it works for now. Hopefully this will give you some ideas and you can come up with something that works for you. I do recommend getting the sygav dash though. Youll wont be disapointed. It fits very nicely, looks great in the evo x dash, and has amazing flexibility and features. Just dont ever allow your door speaker wires to touch each other like i did. You will instantly throw away a $500 piece of electronics, and youll get a nice little smoke show coming out the back of the unit. I still hate myself for allowing that to happen.
