Cobb Accessport | NEED HELP!
So i recently purchase a Cobb Accessport for my 2013 Evo MR. The only thing my car has is a ETS cold intake and a charge-pipe and a catback exhaust. The car was tuned with the previous owner. So i was wondering do i really need this Cobb tuner or what stage tune i should go for once i install the tuner? Please help
Thank You

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with it. The tune that's already on the car (if it was done properly) is going to be much better than an OTS Cobb AP tune. The only thing the AP would really be useful for is the gauges. Luckily APs have a high resale value so you shouldn't lose too much money if you end up selling it

Return the Cobb Accessport - do some research and take it slow else you can waste a lot of money chasing problems.
Good luck with the car!
Man you're in Dallas! Just plan a road trip down to Kozmic Motorsports after talking to them about your goals - get the parts you need - then let them tune it. Seriously man they're one of the best out there for that specific car. Good luck but hit them up!!

Weird statement to make they're very well regarded in the community and I've worked with them for years. I'm out of my EVO now but still hold them in very high regard - they stand behind their work and man they can bring an MR to life.
The Cobb AccessPort is the WORST thing to add to an EVO X MR. Please research more friend - look at shops like Kozmic Motorsports to understand more about the transmission you have in your car - if you want more power you should engage with a tuner in your area if viable that knows the EVO and MR SST transmission specifically - if not local there are e-tuners that you can work with.

Damnnnn Im bummed out about seeing this now smh, I JUST bought a Cobb v3 for my MR few days ago from seeing all the reviews on it that it was great & what not. I have heard of going open source & actually the guy I bought it from had an MR & he went that way. Thankfully my cousin also bought a GSR last week so maybe I’ll just sell it to him. They usually above $350-500 resale & I got it for $240 so not too much a loss anyways. Is there reasons why it’s not good for MR? I have also continuously seen good things said about Kozmic for MR’s. Thanks for the info my man.
I've had and enjoyed Cobb products on my old 08 STi - but the EVO MR is truly one of a kind and you want some real good experience working with it or they can never run right just because they aren't tuned properly for the transmission. Kozmic does remote tuning as well I believe so even you could hit them up, though there are some good options up north.
I see. Yeah I'm up here in MA, look's like I'm going to have to find an E tune, heard there was a good choice that Kozmic recommended for e tunes as well it was like WTF____ I can't remember name. How much does it cost for Kozmic to dyno my SST & do w.e they have to & send it back? Thanks for quick reply
