Hey, not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I really need some advice.
I noticed this small paint chip(about 2mm) on my Evo when I was washing it.
What can I do about it?

Yup! Just get a touch up sander (or hot glue sandpaper to the end of a pencil) and sand it down until there's no more corrosion or lifted paint. Watch about a dozen videos on how to touch up paint chips. End up with a big blob of paint. Try sanding it down, scratch up the surrounding paint. Add clear coat. Sand it some more, scratch the surrounding paint even more. Then buff it all to try to get rid of the scratches without burning through the factory clear coat. I'm mostly joking but it's not going to look perfect so be prepared to accept that:
1. Only you are going to notice
2. It stopped the spread of corrosion
3. It's not worth the cost of perfection

 

I just bought a stock 2013 evo x with tons of rock chips. You guys think its worth repairing myself or just buying a carbon hood. Problem is I love the paint color!

 

If you don't plan on doing a carbon accented theme across the car, IMO, a carbon hood alone looks off. For about the same money you can get a front end respray at a decent shop, especially since there's no damage to repair that I can see. Then just get paint protection film applied after the respray is cured and you'll be in great shape. BTW, I love that color on our cars too!

 

I agree. Get the hood repainted by a really good shop and then get it wrapped to protect it..

 

Thanks for the input. Yea im afraid a shop won't be able to properly paint match.
