Red CHECK light
Hey everyone, having a bit of an issue.
I've had a red CHECK light with a symbol that was an exclamation mark inside a triangle pop up on my car multiple times in rapid sucession.
I've been told that this may relate to the timing chain, however I done the timing chain check by taking the valve cover off and it doesn't seem to be stretched from what I can tell.
When the CHECK light comes on my evo kinda goes haywire, it's almost like the ECU completely resets as the RPM's hang at a certain amount until the CHECK light goes away.
It reset my radio once when it came on along with shifting my car from 5th to 1st, then going back to 5th once the car stopped freaking out (sst).
I've recently changed batteries because my current battery was getting a bit bad, and then put the car in storage for the winter so I haven't really checked it since.
Anybody got any idea what could be going on here?
I do not have ANY confirmed/pending codes on the car, there is no CEL.
I was not sure where to put this topic in the forums as I'm unsure what the actual issue is.
