Need help with exhaust.

I'll keep this short. I currently am running a Speed Circuit Wicked Edition w/ test pipe. I used to have an AMS wide mouth downpipe and the car sounded deeper or more throaty (example 1). I recently upgraded to an ETS top mount turbo kit and with it the ETS downpipe and dual waste gate dump. My car is now absurdly loud and raspy, like and angry trombone. I was curious if anyone else had this issue and if there was a remedy for it without having to change my exhaust housing to fit the AMS back on? I'd like to keep the exhaust since its hard to come by and it used to sound good. If not what do people recommend for the turbo kit I mentioned?

Different Exhaust is Different. Completely different setup is different

you now have an atmospheric dump tube or 2 dump pipes off the waste gates “Y” together to a single dump tube that when your WG opens at your boost target dumps exhaust right to atmosphere

You wonder why this sounds different than a Stock quicker spooling turbos full exit out the back exhaust sound is different

Just think about that a little and I’m positive you’ll have an ah ha moment

Oh and putting the AMS back on will not sound like it did with a stock turbo vs a a pair of Wastegates dumped to atmosphere on a laggier turbo

Come on now man

Thats like saying my focus st and Evo’s exhaust sound different. Why they both have 2.0L engines

Just think a little about how your car works

gsrboi80 you're absolutley right, that and the change to an equal length tubular mani vs the stock cast iron. I am probably going to change over to either an Invidia N1 or Q300. Thanks for the help, its obvious when I think about it. Much love

You can try several things to change the tone of your new setup. Use the following individually or in combination with one another:

1.) Change the test pipe to a resonated style test pipe
2.) Add a Vibrant free-flowing in-line muffler
3.) Have a fabrication shop with proper welding skills recirculate the open wastegate dumps
