Evo X Not Starting after engine swap.

I am wrapping up the install of my new motor. Went to crank it today and nothing. I hear the starter relay click but the starter isn’t doing anything. I can short out the starter with a screwdriver and hear it spin. Any suggestions? Brand new battery. Checked all my grounds they are good.

Next is to check the signal wire on the starter. I also have no codes.

1. Check the starter solenoid: The starter solenoid is responsible for engaging the starter motor when you turn the ignition key. It's possible that the solenoid is malfunctioning or not receiving the proper signal to engage. Consider inspecting and testing the solenoid to ensure it is functioning correctly.

2. Inspect the ignition switch: The ignition switch sends a signal to the starter relay to activate the starter motor. If the ignition switch is faulty, it may not be sending the proper signal, resulting in a non-responsive starter. Check the ignition switch for any signs of damage or wear and consider testing it or replacing it if necessary.

3. Check the starter motor connections: Ensure that all the electrical connections to the starter motor are secure and free from corrosion. Loose or corroded connections can prevent the starter motor from receiving the necessary electrical current to operate. Clean and tighten the connections as needed.

4. Test the starter motor: If you have confirmed that the starter motor is functional by manually engaging it with a screwdriver, it suggests that the issue lies elsewhere in the starting circuit. However, it's still worth testing the starter motor itself to rule out any internal problems. Consider having the starter motor tested at a reputable automotive shop or using a multimeter to check for proper voltage and continuity.
