Evo starter

Hi fellas. I was just wondering why my Evo VIII would still not start after installing a new starter. Any thoughts on this issue?

Did you disconnect your battery before install?

From what I know, all the grounds are hooked up correctly and it's a new starter that was installed. Yes, the battery was disconnected during the starter install. My mechanic tried to wiggle the black wire when I was starting my car yesterday and still, it takes me more than several tries before my car starts.

put a meter on the signal wire and make sure its getting 12volts when you turn the key to start. If not then trace it back could be a fuse or even the ignition switch.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to the ignition switch. I had to replace my ignition switch a while back with the same symptoms you are having. You can actually take it apart and clean it, but it was cheap enough that i just bought a new one.

if the starter is good to go with the bolts tight then i think like ^^ might be ignition switch related.

Problem solved, guys. It was indeed the ignition switch that was the problem. It has been replaced with a brand new one and now, my evo has no problems starting again. Thanks again for all your input.
