Hi everyone. Wanted to get your thoughts on my situation. I sold my X back in 2017 after my 1st little one was born. Anyways, fast forward 6 years later, and I'm thinking about jumping back into another Evo. Since my last Evo, I've had an STi and currently driving a 15' IS350 F-Sport AWD and have driven my friend's Type R numerous time. None of the cars seem to give me that same feeling, that I had when I owned my Evo. I am not sure if it's nostalgia or it really was the best car I've ever owned. I thought the STi or Type R would give me that same feeling, but it just didn't. I remembered getting stopped by people all the time at the gas station wanting to talk about my Evo and getting those random thumbs up on the road. Def miss those days.
There's not really anyone I know anymore that has an Evo for me to drive and obviously it's pretty scarce at legit dealerships. Should I still go for one or do you think I am just living in the past?
Give it a couple of years, evo's were the same way. In 2006 I paid retail for an RS. Had it shipped from cali to mo.
People who want the GR Corolla don't have the money and people that have the money don't want the GR Corolla. Same thing happened with the evo. Let the fan boys and youtubers wear themselves out and the prices will drop into line.
If you think you are saving money by buying a 17 year old car like mine, you won't.

Actually no. I have the money and I want a GRC...just don't wanna pay the markup. I'd sell my IX for one, a Circuit though. Also looking for an X to DD.
And I don't see the GRC prices going down...2500 a year guarantees that.
Umm ... Yes? It happened before as I said Evo's were untouchable with 4K dealer markups until they were no longer the new kid on the block. It will happen again and likely the better versions will come later just like they did with the Supra.

I was taking a trip to long island with some friends in my 9 MR this past weekend. had to hit the groceries in my car, and when I got back someone had left a note on my door saying there was a cart near the car and that they moved it out of the way for me, because they couldnt bear the thought of the cart hitting such a clean MR. also asked to reach out if i ever decided to sell it.

GR Corolla is at a price point that if you send a little more than you can get into the GR supra manual. GR86 price is where I would like to see the GR corolla being sold at.
Then if you consider other makes and models the GR Corolla doesnt stack up to the competition for what it is. It becomes a novelty rather than the next affordable modern incarnation of an Evo.
Been getting in and out of '06 Evo for 17 years. Climbed into a new Supra. I am only 5'8". First thing I did was hit my head on the roof edge. Padded like they expected that. Once inside I felt like I was looking out a mail box slot. Like being inside Darth Vader's Helmet. Terrible visibility compared to an Evo 9. I think the GR Corolla would be a better drivers car. I wouldn't buy a supra with that body style.
Thank you for the advice, I will keep it in my mind.
Spoiler

Yeah I’ve driven the new Supra too and I feel like a giant in there and I’m only 5’10”.

Plus, its only a 2 seater..I had an FD RX7 a long time ago and even when I was a young single guy the fact that I could only take one passenger and very little cargo annoyed me. I have an Evo 9 now and it is the perfect amount of practicality, versatility and performance

LOLZ garden soil.
I made a quick release trailer hitch. Maybe you can improve your car's versatility
