Pulled over ETS V3 Extreme help!
Pulled over for the 2nd time this month. Bought an evo x with ETS V3 exhaust and I believe a downpipe. How can I make it quieter? Do I need the V3 quiet system and sell this one? Should I avoid going back to stock because it can mess up the tune? Im new to Evo's and I think it sounds less loud than all the mustangs and camaros and they never seem to get pulled over.
You should be able to find a reputable muffler shop to add in a small muffler or resonator to the current system without the hassle of selling what you have to get something new.
As for the tune, in "theory" an exhaust change like that could effect the tune. My suggestion would be to get a log as it sits and then again after to verify AFRs, knock, etc just to make sure everything is clean.

I agree with schuhie. Try adding a Magnaflow performance muffler or an equivalent, and it should suffice.
If it's still too loud, then consider changing the catback system to HKS Super Turbo or ETS Quiet.
Also like schuhie said, do some data logging and re-tune as needed. Hopefully the tune is conservative and everything works out just fine.

Vibrant makes high quality stainless mufflers and resonators in all shapes and sizes so if you can figure out what you need. As long as you don't put anything in front of the cat, you shouldn't need a re-tune unless you introduce a huge restriction.
You could add dual canister mufflers in the rear section like the ETS Dual Muffler or you can try out a standard mini-muffler in the test pipe section with or without an HFC like the Ultimate Racing pipe. A resonator might help with drone/rasp but not much with dB levels.
