I feel like I'm getting the "take it somewhere else" price on my clutch install for my Evo X. I was quoted $2000 dollars for labor alone on a new clutch install. I know prices have gotten out of hand but this is ridiculous right? I am in East Tennessee.
I just had my Evo X's clutch replaced, and here is the cost breakdown. It took the shop over 18 hours to remove and reinstall the subframe and the 5-speed transmission (I was billed for 15 hours). Ordinarily, even the turbo and exhaust manifold had to be removed to access the transmission bolts, but my shop has a special snake-like torque wrench that can access those bolts without removing the turbo:

unfortunately man, i just replaced the clutch myself on my Evo and some shops around me here in Ohio wanted that or more and thats even after i bought the parts and just wanted an install. But doing it myself i have now ran into an new issue with the ABS/AYC/ACD.. Also i dont know if it makes much of a difference but my Evo has the 5spd MT
