So when you rev your car, and the rev's dont go down as fast as they seem they should, this is normal? I've had it happen a few times to me, i don't like it.

Yea I do. But I launch it a lil differently. I take the slowly take the foot off the clutch until it is about to engage. I leave the clutch there and then I rev it to 5000-5500 RPM for a few seconds and let it go.

To me that would seem like more unneccessary wear becuase your keeping it at the catch up where the synchros mesh where as if you keep it all the way in u do engage the clutch until right b4 u drop it. Or am i the one *** backwards? lol any comments ppl?

This car is a drive by wire ----- electronic. That means the ECU control the revs and just lets you ask it to give you more. when your revs stay high it means the ecu is detecting too much fuel in the exhaust and its trying to burn off excess to get the emissions back down.... i think.... someone tell me i'm retarded and explain it the right way

ecu looks at VSS, and clutch switch. If you are not moving and the clutch is in the ecu will cut ignition (if its a 2 step) (or possibly retard if it is a true anti lag, I doubt they would do this from the factory though) I would guess the ecu only lets you use the "launch control" for no more than 10sec because it shouldn't take that long to decide if you are going to launch your car or not and Mitsubishi doesn't want you sitting there bouncing off a revlimiter at 5k all day. (not to good for warranty)

it was the same way on the IX's...it's not rocket science....

step 1: stop
step 2: push in the clutch
step 3: put the car in 1st
step 4: floor it, and keep it floored
step 5: let out the clutch till you feel it grab, then let go
step 6: get ready to shift to 2nd because if you did the first 5 steps right, you should be hauling ***...oh wait, you're in a X...forget that last part about hauling ***. that's for IX owners
