Do you have the fast key system? I was wondering the same thing, because you won't be able to lock the doors with the timer running, right? Anyone have insight?

You are wasting your time with the turbo timer. I would try and steer clear of it unless you want to waste your money imo..

A turbo timer is not really needed. Money could be spent better elsewhere.

if your going to say that you might as well say that extra horsepower is not really needed. Tuning a car to drive on the street in general is not needed. alot of things are not needed but if a turbo timer lets your car cool down a little instead of shutting down at boiling hot temperatures and causing teh oil to corode in the oil lines thus preventing flow over time and killing the longivity of a vehicle that is driven daily for a A-B daily commuter car then im going to ay that id buy a turbotimer over alot of things.

Turbo Timer install

I have not yet done one on the X but im sure its similar to other models. You will have 4 connections I believe.

Ground
Power
ebrake
ignition harness plug-in

This is from the HKS one i installed in my subaru, get your ground and power from your headunit harness and teh ebrake wire, which shuts off the vehicle if the ebrake is let down can be wired directly to the ebrake somewhere. the ignition harness plugs in between a harness that is located in teh steering colum. you can just look under your steering wheel and see what looks to match up. Only one will work. This may be no help at all but here you go.

OK lets not get smart. Usually their not needed. Driving fast, then driving normal for a little bit before you get to your destination is enough for the turbo to "cool" down. Do you fly into a parking lot, max rpm's then suddenly turn the car off? Honestly, money is spent better other places first. If you got the money left over go ahead and do it.

i installed my TT on my X and i have fast key and like someone said you cannot lock the doors or do anything with the key fob while the TT is counting down... really sucks and i ahve been talking to a shop foreman at a dealer and he's trying to find a fix....

but all u need is the plug and play harness for the 8-9 evo's and plug it in to ur ignition harness and then run the ebrake wire to the ebrake and ground out the ground on the screw which is in a pefect location on top of the steeering column and thats it...

i still use mine and have it set to 30 secs and can pretty much lock from walking away, but i do usually take it easy before i get to my destination, and sometime i might just fly into a parking lot at redline

and screw these people who flame on a TT, if you want one u want one...
