burnt exhaust tip look

burnt exhaust tip look

I like the burnt exhaust tip and wanted to do this to my muffler tip. Anybody know how to do this? do u heat the tip with a torch or what?

When you say "burnt" do you meant like the Ti blue burnt look?

Haven't seen any home jobs done on stainless tips.

But one way to turn a titanium tip even more blue/purple is to drive the car HARD. a few sessions around a road circuit and the entire tip should change colour!

The easiest way is to cut off the old tip and have someone tig on a new one that's titanium. Good luck finding someone capable of welding titanium.

Im going to try this on some 4'' magnaflow tips first then I may do the muffler tip on my exhaust

Old post but you apply even heat around the tip Ill post a pic up of a stainless intercooler pipe I had laying around to test out how to burn stuff.

heres a pic of the intercooler pipe i was messing around with.. the middle came out crappy i ran out of gas in the torch Im gona work on it some more.
