Request: FMIC Install

I'll be purchasing the AMS FMIC soon, and was wondering if anyone had a HOW-TO on this?

Also, look to install the AMS Upper Intercooler Pipe and AMS Turbo Inlet/MAF Pipe.

Anyone have info on these installs?

I don't have a how-to on the FMIC install, but I can tell you that it takes a long time. Especially if you do it by yourself. The biggest pain was taking off the front bumper support. Because there are 20 bolts holding it to the car. For the bumper- There's one bolt and 3 pop rivets under each fender well, 4 bolts that hold the top of the bumper to the car, 2 bolts on either side of the mesh right in front of the FMIC. And the bolts and pop rivets holding the splash guard to the bottom of the bumper. After all that stuff is removed, it should just pull off. At that point there are just snaps and clips holding it on.

But you can do it solo. Just prepared to be patient.

Thanks, helpful info.

I'm confused as to what the Turbo Inlet / MAF pipe is, especially since I can't find it on AMS' website.

I know where the upper intercooler pipe is, and found that on AMS' site. What is the other thing? Is it the lower intercooler pipe?

Their intake replaces the stock airbox, plastic inlet duct, and the plastic corrugated pipe that connects to the turbo. It replaces all of that crap.

AMS doesn't have a LICP for the X.

I know this is so bringing this back from the dead but does anybody know if the installation of the AMS intake, FMIC and UICP throws the CEL?
