We've had great feedback on the base bushings, they help to give a much more solid and precise feeling to the shifter. It's a good addition to the short shifter!

For anyone with a TWM short shifter and shift knob, TWM also can seel you a different size adapter for $5 that will allow your knob to sit .25" shorter. I ran the shifter/knob for several months without the adapter, but I've since changed and love the even lower height.

i just installed this along with the optional bushings. It takes slightly more effort to change gears and makes a little more noise than stock, but the shifter definitely feels more solid and the short throws make driving the car alot more fun.

out with the stock shifter, its ridiculously long and the throws are huge

How hard is this to do for a first timer noob? I'm not the most auto-mechanically inclined.

If u have a dremel its easy even if u arent mechanically inclined as u put it. I usually pay to have parts installed and I took care of this one myself.

Here is a link to the installation manual for the Evo X short shifter. You can determine from the pictures if you are comfortable enough to install the shifter yourself or not.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

The installation manual is 19 pages long, also including the installation of the base bushings, it would take a while to upload all the pictures and text. We do include a printed version of the manual with all the short shifters we sell, so there is nothing to worry about when the installation time comes!

We just finished a new production of these short shifters so there's plenty in stock but they're flying of the shelves!
