For Those Installing new turbo

Here are a few part numbers you'll need.
Inlet gasket for compressor 1515A053
Outlet gasket for compressor (same as old VIII IX) MR281085
Oil Drain line gasket MR258477
Oil Feed Line copper washers (two but in one piece) turbo 1226A003
Oil Feed Line copper washers (also two in one) Engine side (don't have to remove but other have reported leaking so I'm changing it) 1028A052
The water line washers I kept and reused the old ones as they do not have as much tendency to leak.
You will need 2 studs or preferably two Bolts for the turbo to manifold connection as well. You can use either but FP recommends two Bolts which also makes stock manifold easy to remove later on.
Bolt Part number MN119783 X2
Enjoy your new turbos people. I do recommend FP highly I really can not stress enough my poor experience with Blouch Turbo so I'd stay away from them.

I was on FP's website and they don't have any turbos available for the X yet. The only things I saw on there was FP green, FP red, FP white turbos that were intended for the VIII and/or IX. Did you get an FP red that was designed for the IX?

They only had 10 Red's available for the X initially and I believe all are now sold so I think they haven't bothered to put it on their page considering they probably already started another waiting list. Yep mine is here and assembled ready to go in. Of course Blouch screwed me over yet again and didn't give me back my original turbo studs so I'm off to source two bolts tomorrow to get it mounted up. I have forgotten what my car drives like it's been so long.

Hey Guru thanks! Was it to dificult exchanging the turbos? How long did it took you? Do you think that it can be done on your regular house garage? With the adecuate tools of course. Also any specialty tool needed? Any heads up I need to know in advance. I want to try this.

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions...

It's is not easy I'll tell you that. I did it in my garage but you'll be jacking the car up and letting her back down a lot as you have to tackle it from both above and below. No special tools other than a really long extension and some shorty racheting wrenches (see my thread on the O2 housing). MUCH harder than putting one into an EVO IX. It will take you all day for sure if not longer. Getting it out is the worst part though. I only put one bracket on the turbo to keep it steady. The other one is too much of a pain to line up and bolt in (the one that is from the bottom and which you may not see initially when taking apart). I left bracket there to support the turbo, just didn't bolt it in. I also drilled and tapped the manifold for the EGT gauge while I had it apart and changed out the washer gaskets on the oil feed line (both sides). One last thing. This is important. Have a hose the same size as the coolant lines with a plug on one end handy. The one outlet on the head points down and so if you don't swap hoses you will lose a lot of coolant. When taking off turbo, you can take off hose at the turbo end but you can't do that when you put it back on since getting the clamp on that hose with the turbo in place is all but impossible.

If you don't already have a UR O2 housing/downpipe get one now since you'll want to install it and won't ever want to reinstall the stock piece. Not only will it kill power on a big turbo but it's just too much of a pain to take out twice. I personally didn't think it was that bad (especially compared to taking out the turbo) but opinions differ on that one.

Good guy... fast car!

He tried to get me to move into an FP Red at our meet on Monday. Says it's the stock housing so everything just bolts on up.

I'm seriously thinking about this, might even have one before the end of this year.

I assume we would need bigger injectors and IC to hit 450whp+ ?

I wonder how efficient the stock injectors and IC can go up to.
