How to remove rear seats?
I've read the 8&9's back seats are lighter than the 10.. but even still, weight is weight.
A good rough estimate to go by as far as weight reduction is as follows:
10lbs removed = +1hp = .01 seconds in time savings
Obviously not science, but it stands to reason that is fairly close. Or at least a good estimate to decide if it is "worth it". Now we just need to find out the weight of the seats...
Anyone know where to find a list of the weights of each part that is put into the Evo. A manufacturers list has got to be out there somewhere...
I typically don't drive more than one passenger, so I fully intend on removing mine. Plus if you do it while the interior is new, you can replace them when you go to sell, and the car looks amazing, or you can sell them independently in a few years, once everyone else's are all used and worn down.
I have a buddy who drives a stripped BMW E30, and every night before he goes to bed, he finds at least one thing he can remove from him car. Weight is weight!

Just wanted to add some key learnings.
For a smooth removal of the seat bottom and avoid bendng your rear seat, 1st locate the clip on each side by running your fingers along the bottom edge of the seat. 2nd, pull up using both hands stradling a clip. Do one at a time.
This will reduce any torque getting applied when using one hand. The clip will let go of the hoop with some force but doesn't require too much. There are a couple of posts on other forums regarding bending the seat by lifting with one hand that probably was caused by lifting from farther away from the clip than recommended.
Nice Post I just got my EVO X iam gona strip the trunk and remove rear seat tonight so i can have that raw evo look plus it will help me out with auto x... Removing the back portion of my s2k was much more complicated than this lol
