When it comes time for me to clean my car, I just have basic cleaning tools
A multi-nozzle hose head
Multiple Towels - cotton, microfiber, waffle
A microfiber sponge.
ICE Auto Soap
P21S Wheel Cleaner
I hose it down and jet spray my wheels
lather in auto soap. (Using Ice Auto Soap)
scrub with microfiber sponge
rinse with filtered water
dry with waffle towel making sure you get all the door jams and such
Spray wheel cleaner on and let it soak (I use P21S wheel gel)
Individually rinse and clean with a cotton towel, make sure you wipe down the the calipers to cause it really makes you car look much cleaner
Then I clean the windows with Armor All Window Cleaner and RainX them as well.
This would be a basic clean for me.
When the time comes, I will clay bar, polish, seal and wax. But thats very time consuming and it seems like you just looking for the basic.

Check out Nu-Finish for the exterior. Use after a wash. Don't use it on anything on your car except where you see paint on the exterior. If you get it on vinyl, plastics and rubber, you'll see swirls and what looks like white paint blotches. Just pretty much where paint is applied to metal. My brother used it on his car a year ago, and it still looks fantastic after he washes it. The stuff is real cheap, and been around forever, too. Simple to do. Easy instructions on the back of the bottle.
