I was trying to install the rally innovation harness bar on my EVO X last night, and find out it won't fit, I bought it from South Coast Subaru, no hardware or installation manual come with it. wonderingif anyone has them on EVO X, how did you guys do it? I tried search around, can't find anything , seems like they changed the mounting on EVO X, no additional two small bars . I mailed to rally innovation, and called ....no answer yet. it will be great if anyone has pic to show how you install it...

I never thought a harness bar will be hard to install, I will try to snap some pics later

got answer from Rally Innovations, you will need to trim the B-pillar to install this harness bar, I mean...not the plastic parts. you need to trim the metal off on the B-pillar.. I think it's a very poor design, not to talk about if you roll your car or any side impact could effect.

You can install the harness bar by cutting off some metal part of your B pillar, but I'm sure it's WRONG to trim any metal off around there, very poor design indeed.

by the way,I'm not going to install it...this is not a car just for looks...I would get something safer on it

i Just read what they advertise in their web site and copy here:
It say:

Attaches to accessible factory seat belt mounting points on the B-pillar that ensures structural rigidity and proper harness angle.

so, don't be fool, they screw up and send provably a wrong model or screw the measures. they advertive that the bar attaches to factory mounting points.

Why purchase a harness bar when you can buy a far safer and functional solution in harnesses only and still use your backseat.

Cheaper, safer, and you keep your backseat as they detach.

With a harness bar you loose the ability to put anyone in the backseat. If your in an accident their face is going to be smashed for life if not killed.

 

you can wrap your harness bar with a good SFI high impact rated padding and then you are set. keep your back seats and stick your but to the seat. harness bars are also realy usefull to mount video cameras, your helmet, a bag of doritos, condoms, etc
