All this nonsense about homemade connectors and losing 2-step funcionality why not just compare the EU to the USDM models and see what differs? Make it match EU and you have a perfectly functioning car that will prob start with clutch up and/or down and not lose 2-step. Everyone making it so complicated when it kind seems like it doesnt have to be.

I'm not really sure how bridging two wires is anything near "complicated". If you can't put two wires together, I'm not sure how you can properly operate a vehicle.

As pointed out you can probably swap the relay or you could simply permanently bridge the connection at the starter interrupt relay. I'm sure theres 100 ways to do this that are low impact, reliable, and simple... but this way was free and easy, so I'm failing to see whats wrong with it.

By all means, if you can actually provide any positive direction or feedback feel free to do so... else STFU and GTFO! Kthx

Has anyone verified that the upper switch is used for the 2-step (as well as the cruise control), such that shorting the lower switch (so the car can be started without the clutch) will not cause the car to be in 2-step mode all the time?

Disabling the clutch safety switch

Thank you for the tutorial. Hopefully the procedure to disable the 'safety feature' will be the same for my new Lancer ES 2014 (Australian version). I pick up the car next week, and for the first time in my car driving life, it comes with that odd safety feature. Until a few weeks ago, I had never heard of this safety feature in manual cars.
