Getting to the Fuel Pump

I understand that you remove the rear seats, but what I'm curious about is the metal cover. Can we just pry that up to get the fuel pump? Is it sealed with some kind of epoxy? Basically what do I do to get to it?

Just pry it up with a big screwdriver. That black stuff is sort of like tar...sticky.

you don't need any tools to get it open. just pull the lip of the metal plate and it comes right off, effortlessly. then you need to tools to get the housing out.

You don't the second time. I used a screwdriver the first time.
