Need how-to on turbo back exhaust
im doing this saturday aswell, installing the xtremeboost 02dump dp and ams test pipe. if i soak the **** out of the bolts with pb blaster and have access too airtools, how long should it take me? ive installed dp's before on my friends subaru but that didnt take long at all and the the car was new so the bolts werent bad.
and the last question, would i be alright with removing the heatshields? or is it recommended to keep them.

I started to install my Perrin downpipe/hfc and it didn't fit!
There flange does not have a cup taper like the stock dp, so the stock donut gasket doesn't fit. I shaved it down about halfway, and it still won't fit. Also, the flange on the Perrin unit is too thick, so the spring bolts won't reach.
I said screw it and bought an AMS, and am hoping o finish the install tonight or tomorrow.

while installing my AMS DP it was the biggest PITA. snapped a bolt that was seized... took me 6 hrs to drill it out.
i highly suggest you use a liquid bolt penetration fluid to help you with the bolts.

Penetrating oil is a must... I thought PB blaster was the best, but we use this stuff called kroil on airplanes... better than PB, then there is this stuff called "mouse milk" ( funny name BUT) its better than both.
if you are doing it on jack stands you are more of a man than me... my buddy is a service manager @ a cadi dealer, I drove 2 hours to use a lift there.
I would start a the back disassembling, just to get stuff out of your way, then after you get the DP off, reassemble front to back with the goods... good luck

Took about 4 hours on jackstands, but I worked in increments as I was initially planning on installing a Perrin non-O2 housing dp. I had no worries about breaking bolts, which I attribute to letting the car COMPLETELY cool down and sprayed multiple times with PB.
