Most people want to lower theirs. How much higher? You can stack washers, but not sure how safe that will be.

Stacking yellow phonebooks in the seat will work?

I know how you feel. The evo 8 was perfect but the evo x seems to be made for taller drivers. The driverside mirror is a huge blindspot and I feel way to low in the car. I am 5'7". If you search around someone did a writeup using spacers. I haven't dont it since I dont know about the safety of doing it.

There was a guy on the FS forums, either here or the other forum, selling some homemade spacers. There wasn't really much to it. I would think that even a slight adjustment like that could cause safety concerns.

Id be curious about a proper fix as well. We have talked about getting my wife an X, but she is 4'8 and needs the seat higher.

un-bolt the seat from the floor and remove seat.

install two pieces of steel channel the thickness/height of your choice...

....in the location of the seat rails.

re-install the seat onto the channel steel you just bolted to the floorboard.

Linked you to some threads I found when researching this same topic.

I used the spacer/washer method as shown under the first link. The idea made me nervous from a safety perspective, so I discussed it with an engineer who is also a car buff, and he said it would be good.

I raised mine 2.0". It's perched up high, but feels rock solid. I raised the back 3/8" more than the front so the seat bottom would be less angled. Feels PERFECT now.

Still makes me nervous, though, so in the long run I want to get somebody to make me some boxed steel spacers like the ones in Post 10 under the second link. I'll bolt the spacer to the floor and then bolt the seat to the spacer, rather than having a single long bolt.
