HOW TO: Debadge your trunk.

I don't know if this has been posted before but I had extra time so I figured I share how I did it. Disclaimer: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

AT first I was nervous to damage my paint but it turned out to be a simple task just take your time. here we go :

You'll need water, goo gone, dental floss, Q-tips and soapy water and clean rags

Take the dental floss and start it on a corner of the bagde like so..

Then do a sawing motion with slight upward pressure..

Be patient take your time or you could break the badge like so which it wouldn't matter much unless you plan on keeping them..

Once your done this is what you'll be left with, remove it with your hand like so..

Apply the Goo Gone....

Let the Goo gone on for about 2-3 min...Then wipe off with a clean cloth

Then clean with soapy water then with clean water and dry.....then step back and mask yourself in your awsomeness

SO there you go hope you guys enjoy it I think it looks a lot cleaner

Nice...I plan on doing this to mine over the weekend but plan on debadging the entire trunk. I also want to shave the emblem on the front but haven't figured out how to do that myself cleanly...I'll need to search that one out to see if there's a DIY out there.

Nice, dude. I'm going to black my front emblem out and debadge the hideous Mitsubishi font and the Lancer font.

Yes it will. Haven't decided if I want to do that or not though.

hmm my car is a year old...

do you think it would be wise to debadge it now or will i see some color fading already?

car is garaged most of the time... only 7k miles on it.

I took all of mine off around 20k miles (~2 years) and after a little polish and wax you can't tell anything was ever there.

Fishing line works good too. I tried floss and it kept breaking.

I left my car in the sun for a little while after i washed her and the badges and adhesive came right off without having to really floss it off or even clean it.
