Post Upgrade Engine Oil Cooler

Did anybody installed aftermarket engine oil cooler on same location as stock cooler ?

I'm thinking on how to do it and with what size cooler I can or should go.

As of right now I'm thinking about getting Setrab 50-625-7612 model and still don't know what fittings to get and size hose.
any kinda help will help .
I can't afford on getting SSP cooler or Map. I checked them out and they are sweet pieces. Almost ready to go, plug and play stuff.

after I do it I'll post pix on here in this Thread.

So far on my research I got advise to go with AN-10 fitting and if I use 19 and higher rows and if placing cooler sideways , advise is to plug oil feed into lower inlet and output on top . That's for making sure oil fills up whole cooler.

Great idea on the upgrade cooler though, if you do with success, I plan to copy cat your project.. Been wondering about this for some time now..

The reason it feeds from the bottom is so it fills up the cooler. If it feeds from the top the oil pump will pull it thru the cooler to quick and the oil will not get proper cooling. It's the same concept as a radiator, it pushes coolant/ water thru the motor and to the bottom of the radiator.

I made my own for about $350 I used M18x1.5->-8AN for the block and -8AN lines to the oil cooler. Fairly easy. I mounted up front on my crash beam. If you go this route, use banjo bolts to the oilcooler, the 90* fittings sit real close to my bumper, I will swap over to banjo bolts there when ever i decide I don't want to be lazy anymore.

Heres a few pics, so you get the idea of what I'm talking about. FYI, don't use push-lock hoses, opt for Braided flex lines. I'll be swapping mine over eventually.

OK, My Project went well. It was easy to install cooler and fittings on hoses.
My parts list:
Setrab oil cooler 625 model
1 Setrab 90* fitting 22mm to AN-10
1 Setrab fitting 22mm to AN-10
2 Straight AN-10 hose ends
2 90* AN-10 hose ends
2 18mm 1.5 thread to AN-10
6 feet Flex-hose AN-10

Total came up to $332

So I've started my oil cooler on my Ralliart. I have the stock evo x cooler, but I'm having a problem with the thermostat. When I install the thermostat there is a slight gap present, like there is supposed to be an o-ring or washer on it. So my question is there supposed to be a small gap or do I put an washer/o-ring on the thermostat?? And do I even need the thermo or can I just leave my plug in there? I don't think it would make much difference if I just leave the plug.. But then again my thinking has got me in trouble before
